Arnica Montana

In this blog, I want to share with you one of the most used and helpful & beautiful plants I can't live with out, and specially when you have little kids.
This Arnica Plant is known also as Arnica Montana, is used a lot in the central american cultures and also now in the United States, in oinments for bruises and swalliness, that is why I always have it at home when my kids get bumps this acts faster than applying ice to the bump.
The name genus from the latin arna, that means lamb in reference to the soft and hairy leaves this plant has.
You can find this plant in regions of western North America while two are native to Europe and Asia, Arnica angustifolia and Arnica Montana.
Arnica Montana and Arnica chamissonis contain helanine a sesquiterpene lactone that is a major ingredient in anti inflammatory ointments, salves, creams against bruises, muscle pain, stiff neck, sore throat, sprains, for external use only, legs, shoulders, arms and back pains.
Used also in te or tinctures and homeopaty medicine for anti inflammatory purpose and pain relieving. You can buy it from healt natural food stores and in some natural medicine mexican stores, homeopathic pharmacist or online stores.
If you are going to use it as a tea, is recommended to use just a little and just half cup once a week.
this plant is used also in te to help cure some types of ulcers in microdosis. I hope you can find this information useful and see you next time!. :)
